Sledgehammer Games will be working with Activision to develop WWII which will bring the series back to World War II after nearly ten years. Many fans won’t be surprised after the disappointing reception of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Although it was reviewed well and lead sales charts last November the figures were ultimately well below Activision’s expectations.
Fans were resistant to Infinite Warfare early on making its trailer one of the year’s most disliked YouTube videos. It was also critically compared to Battlefield 1 both visually and on gameplay. EA and DICE made the move to take their FPS franchise back in time to WWI last year.
Activision will be holding a media event next week, April 26th. The live stream reveal will begin at 10 am PST stay tuned to DVS to learn more about the newest Call of Duty.
